Safe Technologies has fulfilled its contractual obligations for the shipment of equipment for liquid radioactive waste (LRW) treatment facility
Safe Technologies Industrial Group has fulfilled its contractual obligations for the manufacturing of equipment for the liquid radioactive waste purification facility. As it is known, Russia was selected as one of the countries to support Japan in recovery from the accident at the nuclear power plant Fukushima. For this purpose, at the Khlopina Radium Institute the technology was developed, that was a pilot equipment assigned for the production to IG Safe Technologies by the Federal State Unitary Enterprise RosRAO. Currently, work on the production and shipment of the equipment has been completed.
Scope of supply of the demonstration LRW treatment plant includes the following: the distillation column, the isotope exchange column, hydrogenation unit, heat exchanging, gas afterburning, control and instrumentation equipment, pipelines and other.
The 40 meters height all-welded distillation column required accuracy of manufacturing is capable to ensure the safety and quality of the facility as a whole. The column was equipped with chevron-type heat exchange packing of Intareks (is a part of Safe Technologies) production.
The pilot plant was designed to purify polluted water from tritium to acceptable to discharge indicators.
