Retrofitted manufacture at LLC Sibmetakhim production site: official launch. Media review!

The official launch of low-methanol formalin and urea formaldehyde concentrate (UFC-85) plant took place in Tomsk on December 5, 2016. The project was designed and implemented by Safe Technologies Industrial Group as a part of general reconstruction of LLC Siberian Methanol Chemical Company (LLC Sibmetakhim – JSC Vostokgazprom subsidiary, Tomsk).

The Governor of Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin, Director General of JSC Vostokgazprom Vitaly Kutepov, Deputy Governor of the Industrial Policy Igor Shaturny and Chief Executives of Tomsk woodworking enterprises participated in this official event.

Rossiyskaya Gazeta web-portal informs that Sibmetakhim invested one billion rubles into the construction of new processing units, designed by Safe Technologies Company from St. Petersburg. Capacity of the plant is 15 000 tons per year by formalin and 65 000 tons per year by UFC-85.

Sibmetakhim is the only plant beyond the Urals that produces methanol. I am glad that this plant has  good present and decent future. Retrofitting can solve many problems, such as increase in outputs and process reliability,’  said the Governor of Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin at the production launching ceremony.

Interfax-Russia online media notes that reconstruction of the company reduced production areas five times and reduced production expenses accordingly. Due to the application of new units, it is now possible to ramp up the outputs in case of the increasing in demand.

The Head of Vostokgazprom Vitaly Kutepov related the project of retrofitting the formalin and UFC production with a demonstrative example of import substitution.

‘This project represents not only metalworking production in Russia, Russian workforce, but also Russian engineering best examples. As a customer, we are proud of the Russian technology being able to manufacture world-class output products,’ Vitaly Kutepov said.

According to the news agency Monavista, Deputy General Director of Operations & Maintenance, Alexander Vdovin, informed that annual volume of the outputs is planned to increase up to one million tons. LLC Sibmetakhim is planning to complete a large-scale retrofitting of methanol production by 2019.
