President of Russian Railways with a working visit at Waste Thermal Treatment Plant in Yaroslavl

On August 29, the head of JSCo Russian Railways (RZD) Oleg Belozerov visited Waste Thermal Treatment Plant based on KTO-500 incinerator during his business trip to Yaroslavl. The project was implemented by Safe Technologies IG specialists in 2015 under the frame of the railway holding company project.

High-technology equipment is designed for the thermal destruction of industrial waste of III-V hazard classes. The plant is installed on the territory of RZD special unit – the Research and Production Center for the Environmental Protection.


According to the official JSCo RZD website, the Plant meets the requirements of international quality standards and it is equipped with the latest emissions control technology. The range of waste for the utilization was expanded, compared to the previous year, and the equipment capacity increased more than three times – up to 700 kg/h.

Yaroslavl news agency Yarnovosti also highlighted KTO-500 visit by the Russian Railways President. According to the news portal, Waste Thermal Treatment Plant is equipped with fully automated control system and the technology of transforming released thermal energy into electric one, which can be used for the enterprise various needs.

According to the public authorities’ portal, the Plant serves more than a dozen of railway holding enterprises and about fifty institutions in Yaroslavl and its regions. More than 600 tons of waste (medical, biological, industrial) have been treated by KTO during the current year.
