Representatives of Rosatom’s leading companies providing comprehensive services related to spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste treatment, decommissioning of nuclear facilities and consequent land rehabilitation, shared their experience in ensuring nuclear and radiation safety at Russian nuclear industry facilities and during the implementation of similar projects abroad.
Safe Technologies IG is among the companies, who took part in the realization of such wide-scale environmentally important project for treating radioactive water at the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant. The company has developed a set of detailed engineering documentation. ST Industrial Group has designed and manufactured technological equipment for liquid radioactive waste treatment pilot plant.
Earlier the Gas Industry journal published an article «Possible solutions for treating considerable volumes of tritium contaminated effluents» , which describes the main stages of the process and the principles of liquid radioactive waste treatment. According to the customer’s requirements, the plant includes column equipment, with high-quality regular packing.
Some equipment is already commissioned and shipped to the site as scheduled. Now the ST company is finalizing construction and erection works.
The unit is to be installed at the beginning of 2016.
