IG Safe Technologies received a patent for the methanol production plants
The plants designed for the methanol production from natural and associated gas directly at the field are patented by Safe Technologies. The document is issued by the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) on October 27, 2015. Thus, the new technology has been expert reviewed.
Methanol is widely used in the gas industry as a hydrate inhibitor. It is impossible to pump the gas through the pipelines over long distances without methanol usage. The goal of plants patented by Safe Technologies is to release gas-producing industry from the need to transport this toxic substance to remote fields. Thus, it becomes possible to save significant funds on the construction of methanol transportation infrastructure and dismiss the dependence on external supplies.
Methanol production facility is mobile, low-tonnage (5000-60000 t/y) plant of Safe Technologies make. Its modular structure provides a high degree of operational readiness. The most expensive equipment and energy-intensive units are eliminated. The facility is capable to produce 91-93% raw methanol and residue (fuel) gas that can be used for the energy recovery or for fueling directly at the field.
